In the autumn 2020 RTL carried out an international delivery of a maleic anhydride synthesis reactor for PJSC TATNEFT. PJSC TATNEFT is one of the largest Russian oil companies today including steadily developing enterprises of crude oil and gas production, petroleum refining, petrochemicals production.
Maleic anhydride is a multifunctional base chemical that is used in almost all branches of industrial chemistry. Maleic anhydride is not produced in Russia; the needs are completely covered by imports.

Two heavy lift cargo measured 10.5 x 7.0 x 6.8 m
weight of each - 333,340 kg
The port of Rotterdam was chosen for dispatch of cargo from Europe to Russia. For delivery were accepted 28 cargo units, including two units with dimensions of 10.5 x 7.0 x 6.8 m and 333,340 kg each. Equipment was delivered by river barge to the port of Rotterdam and was reloaded on an ocean vessel.
The ship from Rotterdam arrived at the port of St. Petersburg, where the equipment was reloaded on a river barge and dispatched to the dock in Nizhnekamsk. In the dock, 26 units of spare parts and components for the reactors were loaded onto vehicles by cranes, and 2 reactors weighing 333 tons each were rolled out from the barge by ro-ro method. Then cargo was delivered by road transport to the construction site in Almetyevsk. For road transportation was used combination of Goldhofer THP/SL 24 axle lines.
The difficulties in the implementation of the project were the late deadlines for cargo readiness in the port of Rotterdam, so was a risk of not being able to finish transportation by river barge to the end of navigation. Also in St. Petersburg port cargo beds were upgraded by RTL LLC. It allowed the rolling out and safe placement of the reactors on modular trailers in Nizhnekamsk.
It is necessary to emphasize the length of the route port of Rotterdam – Almetyevsk – 1820 km.
