DELIVERY OF EQUIPMENT FOR A METALLURGICAL ENTERPRISE IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD REGION

In the second half of 2022, the RTL company implemented the project of delivery of the first part of heavy-weight large-sized industrial equipment for the metallurgical enterprise under construction in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The future enterprise will work on the principle of «green metallurgy». A feature of this production is the lack of coke and blast furnace conversion in the process. Steel will be produced from iron ore and natural gas by direct reduction of iron (DRI - Direct Reduced Iron), which minimizes the impact on the environment and automatically ranks production among the most environmentally friendly industrial enterprises, not only in the Russian Federation, but also in Europe.

Due to the fact, that the main part of the goods had mass and dimensional parameters, which do not allow to transport them long distance on roads, specialists of RTL Company have built an optimal logistic chain. For sea transport to the port of Saint Petersburg, a specialized vessel designed for heavy cargo and equipped with 3 cranes with a capacity of 350 tons was used. This made it possible to speed up the process of transshipment of heavy cargo in the port of Saint Petersburg, because the transshipment was carried out directly from the ship to the RO-RO type river barges. The marking of barge-towing convoys was carried out on the inland waterways of the Russian Federation, located in the zone of responsibility of the FBU "Administration "Volgo-Balt" (Lake Ladoga, Lake Onega, River Neva, Volga, Oka) to the immediate vicinity of the territory of construction of the enterprise.

In total, in 2022. RTL Company delivered to the construction of the enterprise 11 large heavy cargo with a total weight of about 1200 tons. Among them, the most oversized places have the following characteristics:

Upon completion of the construction, the metallurgical plant will be the largest European producer of unique steel sheet for the production of large-diameter pipes for trunk pipelines and shipbuilding, seamless pipes for oil production of high reliability, as well as the production of railway wheels.
