DELIVERY OF A POOL REACTOR FOR A UREA PLANT

In the summer of 2020, RTL successfully delivered a pool reactor to the urea production plant in Togliatti, Samara region. During the transportation, the cargo changed its mode of transport four times. The transportation route ran through two seas, three lakes, five rivers, the vessels passed more than a dozen lock chambers.

The transit time for the transportation of the reactor from the consignor to the consignee totalled a little over one month. More than fifteen organizations joined forces in the organization of transportation under the strict control of RTL LLC, aiming for the precise execution of the project.

One of the most difficult parts of the transportation was Ro-Ro unloading of a three-hundred-ton cargo in the port of Togliatti. Another challenge was that Zhigulevskaya Hydro Power Plant was located near the unloading berth, and the water level in the Kuibyshevsky reservoir, namely at the unloading site, constantly changed in a range of 30 cm. The total time for rolling out the cargo from the barge to the berth was 4 hours.

After a successful roll-out, the pool reactor loaded on a multi-axle modular conveyor was transported to the consignee's warehouse along the streets of Togliatti by night. As a result of the well-coordinated work of the employees of RTL Group of Companies and contractors, the oversized cargo was delivered exactly on the date stated in the contract.
