Siemens gas turbine rotor

In 2020, RTL Group of Companies carried out transportation of oversized power equipment for Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies LLC (SGTT). As part of the freight forwarding contract, our specialists performed several transportations of heavy lift rotors in St. Petersburg and from St. Petersburg to Moscow. We have completed 4 trips across St. Petersburg and one trip from St. Petersburg to Moscow to date.

This January the first gas turbine rotor was transported from Yuzhnaya CHP of TGC-1 JSC in St. Petersburg to the territory of SGTT for repair. The route of transportation ran through the streets of St. Petersburg to the industrial zone Gorelovo in accordance with the route advised by the Permit for transportation of oversized and heavy lift cargo. The loading and unloading of equipment were carried out by the customer. Once the power equipment repair was complete, the rotor of the Siemens SGT5-2000E gas turbine of the first gas turbine unit was transported back to Yuzhnaya СHP.

In March 2020, our company carried out the next transportation trip from the territory of the CHP to the SGTT industrial complex for repair. And as soon as in mid-April RTL Group of Companies delivered the repaired rotor of the GTE -160 gas turbine to Yuzhnaya CHP in St. Petersburg, as part of the main inspection of the second gas turbine unit.

During the overhaul, each rotor was disassembled, checked for flaws, repaired, and reassembled. To perform these tasks, RTL transported the oversized equipment to the production site of SGTT, since the territory of CHP does not allow for lifting the rotor in a vertical position required for its disassembling and repair.

In a similar vein, a rotor 12719 mm long by 2740 mm wide and 3223 mm deep, weighing 57 639 kg, on special supports was delivered from the territory of SGTT (Gorelovo industrial zone) to CHP 27 of Mosenergo JSC, Moscow this spring. The cargo was transported within the terms stipulated in the Contract and the application.
